Dr Alta Withers is an experienced Family GP based in Fontainebleau/Ruiterhof, Randburg, offering professional, personal, and holistic healthcare for adults and children.
She completed her medical degree at the University of the Witwatersrand in 2004 and brings over 20 years of medical experience across general practice, surgery, and clinical research. Her background includes extensive work in paediatric and general surgery, HIV care, and community-based general practice, giving her a unique ability to provide comprehensive, evidence-based care for every patient.

Dr Withers has a special interest in women’s health, paediatrics, preventive medicine, and medical weight and active health management — helping patients achieve lasting wellbeing through both clinical and lifestyle support.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr Withers has an active research background and has supervised and co-authored numerous medical publications, reflecting her ongoing commitment to evidence-based medicine and lifelong learning.
Outside of her practice, Dr Withers enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors, and cycling. Her passion for cycling and transplant sport has led her to serve as the Chairperson of the Gauteng Transplant Sports Association and as a member of the Management Committee of the South African Transplant Sports Association, where she continues to advocate for organ donation and the celebration of life through sport.
